ETC647 Final Grade Posted

Dear ETC647 Students,

The final grades have been posted in the grade book on BBLearn.  Please check your grade ASAP.  If you have questions about your grade, please contact me by 5pm, Monday, December 19, 2011.  I will assume that you agree with your grade if I don't hear from you.

I highly recommend that you print a copy of your grade book and save it in your records.  For now on, please forward your correspondence to my NAU e-mail account at Chih.Tu@Nau.Edu.

If you have not completed the Course Evaluation, please visit this URL to complete the evaluation.  http://www.nau.edu/course_evals

During the semester we have joined various Web 2.0 groups, please free to leave the groups, such as ETC647 Wetpaint, ETC647 Twitter or ETC647 Facebook Group etc.  We will use the same groups for upcoming ETC647 instructions.  If you would like to get update on educational technology trends and news and ETC Community events, I encourage you to join

It has been a wonderful experience to work with you.  If there is anything that I can be helpful professionally or personally, please do not hesitate to contact me.

I wish all of you wonderful and safe holiday season.

Best wishes,

Chih

Ability to Complete the M.Ed. Degree program in One Year

Starting in the Fall of 2012 ETC graduate courses will be scheduled for 7 week sessions. There will be two 7 week sessions during the regular 16 week traditional semester.   This would mean that you could take two ETC courses during a regular semester, but not at the same time. For example, working professionals who normally take two courses per semester could take one course the first seven weeks and another the second seven weeks of the regular semester – allowing you to still take two courses per semester, but only have to work on one course at a time.   For those who wish a faster track, you could take two courses each seven week session, completing four courses per semester, but still only working on two at any one time.

Notes for Unit & Unit Presentation

It was very good to speak to some of you on Thursday nights.  Here are a few reminders to help you complete your final unit and unit presentation.

Final Unit

·      Use "Evaluation criteria" as a checklist to ensure your unit meets all the requirements (http://etc647.wetpaint.com/page/Lesson+6).

·      Be sure to have clear understanding on UGC, Participatory Web, Community-Community Interaction, InfoViz. Frequently, people misunderstand them (https://sites.google.com/site/etcnle/ple-nle-instructional-strategies).

Unit Presentation on Elluminate

·      Be sure you have a working microphone

·      Go through Elluminate video tutorials: https://sites.google.com/site/etccommunity/elluminate-tutorials

·      PowerPoint is not required.

·      Using  "Start a Web Tour"   feature to provide a grand tour for your final unit on the web by following the required presentation instructions is considered the easiest way to complete your presentation.

·      How to locate my presentation recording? Please see Elluminate video tutorials.

·      Be sure to go over the recording to make sure the AV working properly.

·      Diigo: Which commenting method is better?  Generally, highlighting with a floating note is the best so it precisely indicates where your comments referring to.  Sticky notes are appropriately for commenting the whole site as well.

·      Share you unit information & presentation URL at: http://etc647.wetpaint.com/page/Unit+List+Fa11

Don't forget to participate in Lesson 6 discussions!!

Don't' forget we still have a chance to earn Global Digital Citizen Badge by actively engaging in Lesson 6 & 7 instructions.
